Green Beans with Cilantro and Sesame Seeds

Printer Friendly Version »

Simple, with a delicious combination of flavors.

Ingredients

1-1/2 tablespoons sesame seeds
1 pound of green beans, the stem ends trimmed
1 tablespoon of sesame oil
4 tablespoons of minced cilantro
Salt, to taste

Directions

Toast the sesame seeds in a small, dry skillet using low heat and stirring frequently until the seeds are just golden brown. Set aside.

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil and add the green beans. Cook until done, approximately 5-8 minutes and drain. Return the beans to the pan and return them to the burner, shaking off any excess water.

Transfer the beans to a warm serving bowl and toss well with the remaining ingredients, salting to taste. Serve immediately while still warm. Serves 6.
