About Organic Certification

Since the very beginning, we've practiced organic methods because that is what we believe in. Through our dedication to organic farming, consumers and our wholesale customers can be assured of the integrity of our organic products. At Jacobs Farm / Del Cabo, we are proud of what we do, how we do it, and of our vision for a sustainable organic future.

Certified organic food is produced on farms according to the National Organic Program (NOP) standards established by the Unites States Department of Agriculture (USDA). The NOP defines strict guidelines for all phases of organic food production, from growing to processing to handling. Annual inspections by a USDA approved, third-party certifier ensure that the certified organic farm is following all of the rules necessary to meet or exceed the USDA's organic standards.

The Del Cabo growers were one of the first Mexican farmer groups to be certified by an independent U.S. certifying agency before the NOP was established. Since 1991, all of the Del Cabo growers' fields and packing facilities have been continuously certified by Oregon Tilth Certified Organic (OTCO).

The USDA Organic Seal

This USDA organic seal on Jacobs Farm / Del Cabo's products guarantees that the produce you are buying is 100% organic and grown in accordance with the USDA's National Organic Program.

USDA certified organic food is produced without the use of toxic and persistent chemical pesticides and fertilizers, sewage sludge, genetically modified organisms (GMOs), or irradiation.
